Top 7 Free Education Programs for Students

Published on January 28, 2023 by admin

Are you thinking of the possibility of free education and free schools? Well, it is no longer just a possibility; it is now the real deal. There are many schools – proper schools at that – that offer free education or, to be precise, free tuition to students worldwide.

education

But there is a catch.

These schools usually offer free education programs that can only be accessed when the student meets the required criteria. Also, free tuition implies there will be costs for other facets of schooling, such as room and board. It also means that if you need help with term papers, you will have to pay for yourself.

Some of these criteria can be very specific. For example, some only accept indigenes of a particular state, and some accept only people from low-income families. However, there are many of these schools around the country, which means there is a higher probability of getting into one. This article does not list all the schools, just the best seven.

The Best 7 Free Schools for All Students

Below are the best free educational programs for students, just the best seven:

Berea College

Berea College in Kentucky does not accept tuition fees. This is due to the Tuition Promise Scholarship, which pays off all outstanding costs after using federal, state, or institutional aid for admitted students.

However, students must work at least ten (10) hours per week. Each student earns at least six dollars, although certain job classifications pay more. These earnings will be put towards books, room, and board, and external scholarships earned by students can be used for book costs.

College of the Ozarks

Based in Montana, the College of the Ozarks collect tuition fees from only part-time students, totaling over $300 for each credit hour. Full-time students also have to qualify for FAFSA, which is a tuition waiver.

University of New Hampshire

Of course, the University of New Hampshire in New Hampshire started the Granite Guarantee program in 2017. This program offers free and total tuition to state residents (you would have to meet the academic requirements, of course) for four years.

However, this is only available to full-time students in their first years – these students should also qualify for the Pell Grant. Also, graduates of the Community College System of New Hampshire who are eligible for the Pell Grant and transfer to the University of New Hampshire immediately after graduation qualify.

Webb Institute

Another full-tuition school is the Webb Institute, a New York, Long Island-based engineering school. This school offers full tuition over four years to all new students, as long as they are either permanent residents or U.S. citizens. However, the school offers just one course; a double honor bachelor’s degree in marine engineering and naval architecture. Admitted students can apply for federal grants and loans to help with their room expenses and other costs.

United States Air Force Academy

The United States Air Force Academy in Colorado does not charge for room and board and tuition. However, all students (cadets) are mandated to serve in the United States Space Force or Air Force for eight years minimum, with some exceptions. One of those exceptions is that cadets with flight training are to serve ten (10) years minimum.

United States Military Academy

Cadets in the United States Military Academy in New York do not pay for room, board, or tuition. They are, however, expected to serve in the Army after graduation. They are also mandated to play on a sports team throughout their stay in the school.

Antioch College

Antioch College in Ohio is another school that does not accept tuition. About a third of a full-time student’s undergraduate period is spent in research or full-time work. The college’s College Work Program mandates that all new and old students eligible for the Pell Grant get full-tuition scholarships. However, this does not cover room and board, and students are expected to maintain a 2.0 GPA minimum to continue in the school.

Conclusion

So, here are the top 7 free education programs. There are some others, especially in the military category, so weigh your options before you make your choice. Good luck!
