Esports are taking over the world of gaming, and with many of them being on PC or console, some people think mobile is being left behind. However, this is the furthest thing from the truth, as Android has several high-profile esports games available.
If you have an Android device and want to get into online esports, here are a few of the best games you should play.
Best Android Online Esports Games
Call of Duty Mobile
Call of Duty has been one of the biggest eSports games for several years now. A couple of years ago, a mobile version was released that gives players the opportunity to get the same CoD experience right on their mobile devices.
Players can enjoy the same amount of customization, weapon choice, map choice and a battle royale mode, much like the fully-fledged console and PC version. While CoD mobile esports is still relatively small, it is slowly growing.
Fortnite
For a very long time, Fortnite was, arguably, the biggest name in esports. It is relatively easy to learn on mobile but very difficult to master. While Fortnite isn’t as big as it once was, there are still dozens of tournaments being played all the time.
Clash of Clans
Clash of Clans is one of the most downloaded and played mobile games of all time. Players must gather resources and build up their towns to defend themselves against enemy attacks while making armies of their own to attack and destroy others.
While it is a relatively small esport compared to others on this list, competitive Clash of Clans is played by numerous teams across the world, with competitions being held regularly.
Clash Royale
An offshoot of the Clash of Clans series, Clash Royale sees players go against each other in a lane/tower rush format, where the goal is to destroy your opponent’s three towers. To do this, players create a “deck” that consists of four cards; these can be soldiers or special abilities.
While Clash Royale has taken a two-year break from the esports world, it is set to be revived and come back bigger and better than ever. If you have never played before, now is the time to start.
League of Legends
League of Legends is one of the biggest esports in the world, and it became even bigger with the release of League of Legends: Wild Rift. This mobile version of the legendary title gives you all of the LoL action and fun right in the palm of your hand.
Players can enjoy a few unique modes and map styles, but more importantly, you have access to all the heroes we have come to know and love. While Wild Rift is smaller than LoL on PC, it is the best way to get some LoL action, no matter where you are.
PUBG
Another classic esport is Player Uknown’s Battleground or PUBG. While PUBG isn’t as big as it once was, it is often seen as one of the godfathers of Battle Royale games and is still enjoyed by a very large fanbase.
Players drop into a map and must collect and scavenge gear, weapons and ammo, and of course, defeat enemies; the last player standing is declared the winner. While the game isn’t that big anymore, there are still several tournaments and competitions to be found.
Apex Legends
Another Battle Royale game that was once thought to be a flash in the pan, but has stood the test of time, is Apex Legends. You play in teams of three, and like other Battle Royales, you have to traverse a map, finding weapons and defeating enemies.
What makes Apex Legends unique is that each character has their own traits and powers, and no team can have more than one of the same heroes. This means every game is different, with strategy having to change all the time.
Minecraft
Calling Minecraft an esport is controversial in many people’s eyes, but there is a lot of talk of the biggest game of all time making the jump to esports. While we all know what the game is about, there are a few changes that need to be made for it to be competitive in an esports format.
At the moment, there is no main PvP mode, and PvP is what makes a game an esport. However, these changes could be on the way very soon, which could alter the face of Minecraft forever.
Brawl Stars
Brawl Stars is a simple yet incredibly popular mobile esport that sees players face other players, or AI, in battle. There are multiple modes to choose from, each with its own objectives that players must complete.
The Brawl Star championship brings players together from all over the world to compete, with the last tournament, held in 2021, having a prize pool of over $600,000.
