Your body is a lot like your computer, with many overlapping qualities. Your body and your PC also share similar needs in order to operate with ease. Who wouldn’t want things to run smoothly? Here are some traits that both humans and computers share.
They Both Need Power
Computers need power from external sources such as batteries or electrical outlets. They cannot run without power, and neither can humans. The difference is that humans obtain energy from another source: food. The amount of and quality of energy greatly depends on the types of food you consume.
While computers will tell you exactly how much power it needs on the power supply, humans have more options. You can power up your body with a well-rounded diet consisting of meats, grains, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. An immune support supplement or other addition to your meals can support your body even further.
They Both Need Maintenance
Computers will need routine maintenance to keep them functioning at optimal capacity. Here are some maintenance activities for your computer:
- Keep it in a cool place to prevent overheating
- Clean out the internal fan
- Wipe the screen
- Clean out the keyboard
- Check the hardware
- Delete unwanted junk files
- Rearrange and organize files
- Install operating system updates
Your computer will do well with routine maintenance.
Your body also needs periodic maintenance. You already do many of these maintenance activities every day: sleep, eat, exercise, socialize, bathe, and destress. Keep doing these activities to keep your body in good shape.
They Both Need Repairs
The human body is notorious for acquiring injuries, much like computers. Human injuries include broken bones, bruises, and other ailments. Computers can suffer from broken equipment or malfunctioning hardware.
While it’s fairly easy to replace computer parts, it is rather difficult to repair the human body. A simple visit to the local computer repair store will have your PC fixed in a jiffy. The human body, however, will need a visit to the doctor’s office, medical exams, prescription medications, and a set of instructions to follow.
They Both Have Memories
Humans and computers remember things that they store in their memory banks. A computer’s hard disk will contain information on a nearly permanent basis, only losing it in the case of hardware failure or destruction. Humans are prone to memory loss every day and some can’t even remember what they ate for lunch today.
They Both Overheat
Overheating is a big problem for both mechanical and carbon-based life forms. Computers can incur irreversible damage to their system due to overheating from natural sunlight or via generating their own heat. Humans can overheat from sun exposure, external sources, or dehydration.
The fix for overheating is basically the same for machines and men: reduce the temperature. The PC will shut down to save its internal systems as an active safeguard. Humans, too, may shut down by fainting. Regardless, it’s important to stay cool and avoid extreme heat in general.
They Both Process Information
Information processing is similar for both people and PCs. Humans absorb information through the senses and intuition, then process it using a set of protocols that must feature congruency. Computers, on the other hand, gain information from manual input, data transfers, and calculations.
They Both Need Decluttering
When too much is literally too much, humans and computers will need to declutter. Having too much information or junk takes up precious space in their lives. When there is too much to handle, it is imperative to start the decluttering process.
Humans can suffer from cluttered living areas, workspaces, and memory banks. You can declutter by getting rid of excess junk, dated work files or equipment, and letting go of the past. Computers can perform file deletions, PC cleanups, or wipe the hard disk altogether. An environment free of clutter can help a human or PC function smoothly.
Humans and computers actually have quite a lot in common, which makes it easier to remember how to keep them in operation. Keep the above points in mind when maintaining your body and PC.
