Before leading to the main steps, make sure you’ve downloaded all of your data, exported the database, modifying your website’s files and your information is absolutely safe. The site transferring process may vary depending on your website platform.
Add new domain to a panel
First, you’ll need to transfer your domain name. This may require configuring more than one web application, usually provided by the SiteGround — this service may automatically reconfigure your web application after finding it in webroot.
Change or update NS-notes
You’ll need to login into your nameservers dashboard. Click on the card view and then choose “manage” button on the domain that you’d like to update. You’ll see a menu with DNS and name servers options. Edit your nameservers by clicking on a button with three dots.
Move all database files
Transfer any data you’ll need on new hosting. It may be email accounts or databases. By clicking on the tasks, you’ll need to choose the copy database option — afterward, a new menu will appear, where you have to enter a source server name and begin the server authentication mode. Then you type in the destination server name and authentication again. Now you can use the SQL Management Object, which is gonna ask you which databases you would like to copy and move. Select any database you’re interested in and wait for it to transfer. MDF on the destination machine will let you know about the operation passing successfully.
Setting configuration
Select server object and add additional options for data copying. The program will create a service package with the files that you’ve specified, and you just need to schedule it. Service packages may run immediately or be terminated.
Please consider that moving your website from one hosting to another may not be the same process for everyone. It depends on the hosting you’ve been using and the hosting you’d like to change for, so you may just ask managers for help so your databases and other important information will be moved correctly. One example is Zomro.com technicians helping with site transfer from another host to their data center.
The Transfer process may vary as if you’ve been using a site on a Content Management platform or any other service, such as SQL or other resources. The most important step in each way is to download your data and move it properly without damage. You can do it yourself and then just ask managers of the hosting you’ve been planning on using in the future to help you with configuring, switching domains, or just providing you through transferring operation.
